Education is certainly a much needed element, this is agreed. However, this education should include the ENTIRE historical truth. Prior to the arrival of the white man, the black man was warring with himself – tribes against tribes. A constant bloody battle between people of the same color. This friction is not something that only occurred with the arrival of the white man.

Once the white man did, eventually, set foot on the continent of Africa he too faced the same viciousness; constant theft of his possessions, witchcraft, slaughter/murder, chiefdoms who sold land to them and then reneged on these agreements and the list goes on ad nauseam. It is really little wonder that the white man would be forced to protect himself from such violent behavior.

Mankind is political by nature. The entire globe, with all it’s continents, has undergone war from it’s beginning for the spoils of land. War is in the history of every nation that exists today. Should we thus change all the borders in existence today because of historical politics that spans thousands of years? War is war. There are victors and there are the defeated. The victors get to keep the land. This is a story as old as time.

The Zulu’s took control of many lands belonging to other tribes through war. The Xhosa’s took Sotho land through war…. and so it went one to the other. It has been stated that the black man and the white man arrived in South Africa in pretty much the same timeframe. In this study, it has been stated that the majority of black tribes in South Africa have their true roots further up the African continent. Due to the tribal wars, prior to the arrival of the white man, the black man was moving south of the continent over time. The land, now called South Africa, was not indigenously inhabited by the parties now crying about ownership. If, as the study states, the white man and the black man arrived in South Africa in the same timeframe, it is only logical that the land should belong to both. Or to whoever won the war over the land.

The problem with the Malema-like politicians shouting on the platforms of the South African stage is that they focus only on a portion of history that is convenient to their cause. They want you to remember ONLY the stories that will incite the populace to support his political claim to power. He selectively educates the youth. Do you want to be educated by a man who needs your vote for his own personal politics? And does his personal politics really serve the country and it’s populace? Truth is bigger than the political stage. Politicians never want you to know the WHOLE truth. This is also a story as old as time. As a politically minded person, you should know this.

If Malema can make one political claim that excludes the racial card, perhaps he could be worthy of your attention. As it is, however, he makes no intelligent, constructive claim for leadership of this country.

You have stewardship of your own mind. Your economical situation, personal problems, social status and perception of your own self worth is now, democratically, in your own hands. Do you want to revisit selective history with Malema, or do you want to take cognisant stewardship of your life and create a life story that is unshackled by a political hatred that is growing out of only a portion of the true story of South Africa?

The choice is yours to find the whole truth.
